The goal to this drink it to provide your body with the necessary ingredients that will help your body sleep. This smoothie is loaded with the amino acid tryptophan. The ultimate goal is for your body to produce serotonin and melatonin. The conversion is accomplished by the body with the help of some vitamins and minerals. They are:

Carbohydrates are responsible for helping drive tryptophan across the blood-brain barrier. Amino acids like Tryptophan, Phenylalanine, Tyrosine, Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine compete for passage through the blood brain barrier. Eating carbohydrates will pull the other amino acids from competition and send them to the body, allowing tryptophan free passage. You do not want to drink the smoothie and eat your carbohydrates at the same time. I suggest drinking the smoothie 1 hour before bedtime and the have 1/2 bagel with honey right before bedtime.

Ingredients
- 3 oz Water
- 10 Almonds
- 1 cup Spinach
- 1 cup Watercress
- 1/2 Avacodo
- 1 tsp Spirulina powder
- 1 tbsp Cacao
- 1 Frozen Banana
- 2 tbsp Tart Cherry Juice
- 2 tbsp Chia Seeds
- 1 cup Crushed ice
